Executive Board


Lucien Johnson


Year: 2L

Hometown: Orlando, FL

Undergraduate: University of Florida

Lucien graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with a degree in Business Management and minors in Spanish and Sustainability Studies. He is a 2018 JD candidate and Treasurer of the Environmental and Land Use Law Society at UF Law, and also served as a Student Panel Assistant for the 2016 PIEC. After graduation, Lucien hopes to work at a firm in Central Florida and focus on property, land use law, and related fields.


Zachary Brown


Year: 2L

Hometown: St. Augustine, FL

Undergraduate: University of Florida

Zachary graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 with a double major in political science and history.  He has a passion for his hometown, St. Augustine, where he is concerned with land use and development of beach and water front property.  Last summer he worked at a small litigation firm in St. Augustine and once he graduates from UF Law, he aims to find a firm in Northeast Florida, which specializes in environmental and land use litigation.


Josh Rieger

Logistics Chair

Year: 2L

Hometown: Coral Springs, FL

Undergraduate: University of Florida

Before Josh acted as Logistics Chair, he previously served the PIEC as a Student Panel Assistant. Josh is also a research assistant to Professor Amy Stein, who focuses on the intersection of environmental and energy law, and an Articles Editor for the Florida Law Review.


Jamie Woods

Registration Chair

Year: 2L

Hometown: Pensacola, Florida

Undergraduate: University of Florida

James is a 2L at University of Florida Levin College of Law. He graduated from the University of Florida in 2015 as a history major, and looks forward to becoming a “Double Gator”. He has a passion for the outdoors, and enjoys herpetology. His primary legal interests are real property law, land use and environmental law.


Samantha Ceres

Year: 2L

Hometown: Miami

Undergraduate: University of Central Florida

Sam has a passion for the environment and environmental science. This past summer Sam was a legal intern at an environmental non-profit, Debris Free Oceans. Last year she was a Student Panel Assistant and looks forward to being part of such an amazing conference. She enjoys running, kayaking, listening to jazz.


Amanda Kincaid

Publicity Co-Chair

Year: 3L

Hometown: Panama City, FL

Undergraduate: Florida State University

Amanda graduated from FSU in 2013 with degrees in English and Italian.  She took a gap year to hike and has hoped to make a career in preservation ever since.  She worked with Kennedy Space Center after her 1L year and is currently working pro bono for the Florida Trail Association.


Jessica Fernandez

Finance Chair


Hometown: Miami, FL

Undergraduate: University of Florida

Jessica is a 2L at the University of Florida Levin College of Law. She is a soon to be “Triple Gator” with a bachelor’s degree in Food and Resource Economics, and a master’s degree in Agricultural Communications and Education. Jessica continues to conduct research with various faculty members from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences|IFAS and is a member of the Florida Law Review.


Andrea Szabo

Fundraising Co-Chair

Year: 2L

Hometown: Budapest, Hungary

Undergraduate: University of Florida

Andrea is a joint-degree student with the School of Natural Resources & Ecology. She enjoys being a student panel assistant and is excited to be on the E-Board again. Last summer she worked on a project to address jaguar poaching in Costa Rica and was also a legal intern for the EPC of Hillsborough County. She’s worked as an RA for Professor Angelo on conservation-dependent species within the ESA framework. She has an interest in the intersection of culture on landscape – particularly Native American rights. Andrea loves folk music, is an avid dog-lover, amateur ornithologist, and serves as this year’s Law Yoga Club secretary.

Michael Marquet

Hometown: Reston, VA

Undergraduate: College of the Holy Cross

Michael is a 2017 JD candidate seeking an Environmental and Land Use Law Certificate. He was a Student Panel Assistant for PIEC 2015 and Registration Chair for PIEC 2016. Michael interned at the U.S. EPA during the last two summers. He enjoys hiking, swimming and law conferences.
